It can be costly to send your lawnmower in for a service to the dealer so why not do it yourself. Not too sure what this entails or what you need to do? Don’t worry we have got you covered. Take a look below on what needs to be done below.

1st Step? Make sure you look at your owner’s manual, each lawnmower is different, and some may have different elements to address when going ahead with your service.

Spark Plugs

Spark plugs are one of the most valuable parts in the lawnmower and ignite the fuel in the engine. Because of this it is imperative to disconnected the spark plugs before you begin any maintenance on your machine and avoid possible injury to yourself.

While the spark plug is one of the most important elements of your lawnmower the spark plugs are very cheap. Changing your lawnmower spark plug regularly ensures an easy start for your machine. See a list of spark plugs here : https://lawnmowerpartsonline.co.uk/categories/spark-plugs

Air Filters

Air filters are designed to collect the dust, dirt and debris from entering your engine and let your engine run smoothly. However, there is only a certain amount of time this can be effective, your air filter will become blocked or full impacting on your engine’s performance. Because of this it is recommended that the air filter is changed every three months.

A lot of air filters can look similar, so it is important to know what you need. If you are unsure of what air filter it is you require simply pop us a message. To view our wide range take a look here: https://lawnmowerpartsonline.co.uk/categories/air-filters

Blades

During the season you use your lawnmower more and more to stay the envy of your neighbors. However, a blunt blade can hinder the clean cut you desire. By replacing your blades, you can ensure a clean and fresh cut and prevent any damage coming to your garden. There are different types of blades available depending on your machine so if you need advice on what blade you require, we are here to help. Our variety of blades can be found here to give you an idea. https://lawnmowerpartsonline.co.uk/categories/blades

Cleaning Debris

After each cut there will be a build up of grass and debris underneath your lawnmower. We are all guilty of simply putting our lawnmower back in the shed after we cut the garden. Leaving all of this build up can impact on your engine and cause it to overhear. Also, during those Winter months we are leaving wet grass lingering on the deck shell causing damage until we take it out to use again. Once it is safe to do so after a cut it is beneficial to clean out the debris when it is much easier and fresh. However, make sure to be safe around the blades which can be quite sharp. It is recommended to wear protective gloves while doing so.
